One of the questions I’m frequently asked is what certain paint colors are in our home! This blog post will be updated as I paint more of our rooms, to serve as a comprehensive guide to our paint colors, and a resource you can always refer back to! See paint colors below, organized by room!
THE OFFICE
Board & Batten Trim: An iteration of custom color “Barbara” (inspired by the Renovation Husbands) by Sherwin Williams
Ceiling, Stairway Wall, & “Swoop”: “Swiss Coffee” by Behr
Closet: “Wing It” by Clare Paint
Long story short, the Renovation Husbands created a custom color at Sherwin Williams that I wanted to use in our office! (Read more about the color on their blog here!) When I sampled the color it was perfect, but then when I got the color made in gallons, it was showing up very cool and grey in my space – completely different than the sample. It might’ve been due to different paint bases? I’m not sure. But I took the paint cans back to Sherwin Williams and they were able to modify the color to get much closer to the sampled color and make it warmer. This is the custom code I ended up with for the modified color!
Above you’ll see the stairway swoop that was a design conundrum. I ended up painting the wall and swoop and ceiling all the same color to help it blend in rather than stand out! The pink inside the closet below and the cube shelf above are both the “Wing It” color from Clare!
PRIMARY BEDROOM
Walls: “Frozen” by Clare Paint in Eggshell
Trim: “Frozen” by Clare Paint in Semi-Gloss
Mirror Door: “Summer Friday” by Clare Paint in Semi-Gloss
I really wanted to add some color to this space in a way that added lightness, especially since I went with a darker bold ceiling wallpaper! There are so many windows in doors in this room, that it felt especially fitting to paint the walls and trim all the same color. Previously the room had greige walls and white trim, and it felt very cluttered and overwhelming. This paint job simplified things, and gave it a peaceful hue!
As you’ll see below the one element that’s a different color is this mirror door! I wanted the mirror door to stand out and feel special, so I gave it it’s own color! Summer Friday felt like the perfect fit.
LIVING ROOM
Walls: “Narragansett Green” by Benjamin Moore in Matte
Trim: “Narragansett Green” by Benjamin Moore in Pearl
Ceiling: “Ancient Ivory” by Behr Marquee in Ceiling Flat
I was so excited to go BOLD in our living room! I fell in love with this rich dark blueish green color! I am big a fan of color drenching the walls and trim in the same color! To add to the drama and make the room feel larger I kept the walls and trim the same colors! But wanted to keep the ceiling a warmer white color! (At least for now… ;))
This room is still a work in progress, but so enjoying the color update! 🙂
More to come!!
